Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は、戦後昭和期における中心地の復原とパネルデータの構築を試み、地域分析におけるパネルデータ分析の応用可能性を探ることを目的とする。具体的には、通時的な中心機能を復原する基礎資料として『商工名鑑』に着目し、対象時期における中心地のデータベースを構築する。さらに、中心地の成立要因にあたる種々の立地条件のデータベースも構築し、立地条件を説明変数、中心機能・階層を被説明変数とするパネルデータ分析を適用する。その結果、中心地の変容過程を規定する要因と各中心地と後背地との関係の地域差を析出することが可能であり、従来の中心地研究や地域分析に新たな方法論を提示することができると考える。
