Outline of Research at the Start

「再野生化」とは、植生を意図的に放置したり、かつて生息していた野生動物を再導入するなどして、その土地固有の生態系を復元しようとする試みである。本研究が着目するのはこの思想を都市に応用し、人工的な環境に自然の要素を配合し直す「都市の再野生化」である。ロンドン市のプロジェクト「再野生化タスクフォース」を中心に、動植物との共生を目指す活動の実態を現地調査を踏まえて精査する。加えて「国立公園都市」の活動や「ワイルド・ウエスト・エンド」による市街地の緑化・動物保護について調査を行う。文化人類学が磨き上げてきた「野生の思考」と改めて向き合い、「都市の再野生化」の意義・課題を明らかにする。
