Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、東南アジア大陸部の「主要な宗教としての仏教」言説を批判し、バラモン教的なものの宗教的布置を描くだけでなく、近代西洋起源の「宗教」概念の刷新を東南アジアの視点から行う。
ここではバラモン教を対象化する際、それを一つの宗教と捉えるのではない。本質主義的な「宗教」概念を再構築するため、宗教を常に流動的なものと捉え、その故「バラモン教的なもの」を対象とする。「......的なもの」という曖昧な概念を意図的に駆使しながら、固有性・流動性・境界性という3つの視角を設定し、宗教伝統、新たに勃興する宗教実践、さらに国や地域を越えたネットワークを統合的に論ずる。
