Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は、災害への対応にも注目した民俗誌的調査研究を行い、人びとはいかに災害と向き合い、その対応を日々の暮らしに取り込みつつ営んできたのかを明らかにするものである。調査対象地として、たびたび津波に襲われてきた宮城県本吉郡南三陸町戸倉波伝谷地区と和歌山県西牟婁郡白浜町富田地区という東北地方と近畿地方の2つの村落を設定しているが、これは場所によって災害対応には違いがみられることから、共通点とともに地域性を前提とした相違点も視野に入れた分析を行う必要があると考えたからである。これにより、日常生活を軸とした災害や防災・減災を考える研究および社会貢献の新たな方向性と課題が提示できればと考えている。
