Outline of Research at the Start

アリストテレス以来の二千数百年の歴史を持つ「市民社会」の概念が、1980年代から90年代にかけて世界的規模で脚光を浴びて大きな変容を遂げたのは、この概念の歴史の大きな一コマとなっているとの歴史認識に基づき、その様相を、とりわけ日本とドイツを考察対象として選び、歴史的及び思想史的経緯を踏まえ、また両国でも盛んに政策的に奨励されている市民公益活動や、それを取り巻く現代社会のいくつかの政策理念と法現象を実証的素材として、解明する。
