Outline of Research at the Start

本研究の基本的な問いは、議会における野党は、政権・与党に対して、どのような場合に対立的で、どのような場合に協力的なのかである。本研究は、議会での野党の行動に着目し、この問いに実証的に答えることを目的とする。多数決型民主主義の典型に位置づけられながら近年では変化が見られるイギリスを対象とし、野党行動にいかなる変化が見られるのかという点も明らかにする。このことは、イギリス政治における「野党は常に対立的である」という既存の想定を問い直すとともに、流動期における野党の行動に関し、日本政治も含めて示唆を与えうる比較政治学的意義を有する。
