Outline of Research at the Start

本研究プロジェクトでは、ケンブリッジ経済学の成立の背景に関わる核心的な問いをめぐり、1870年代後半から1880年代前半にかけて、オックスフォード理想主義とケンブリッジ経済学との間で、いかなる哲学的・思想的な連関が形成され、研究者間の学術的な交流が展開されていたのかという基礎的な研究を行う。具体的には、二つの学術集団に共通した研究課題である貧困問題、都市住環境、環境政策を比較・検討する。その核心は、イギリス経済思想史において看過されてきた「ケンブリッジ経済学の源流としてのオックスフォード理想主義」を前景化させることにある。
