Outline of Research at the Start

本研究課題が明らかにするのは、議員が議会審議に参加すること・その参加の程度が、次回の選挙での有権者の投票行動に影響を与えるかどうかである。選挙結果の分析に市議会の議事録データを活用することで、立法過程の審議の「過程」への議員参加を分析に織り込むことを企画している。
本研究課題では、客観的に定義された日本の「代表的な市(representative city)」すべての市議会の議事録を過去20年程度について収集する。同期間に実施された議員選挙で再選を目指した現職議員について、議事録から得られる任期中の本会議での発言文字数が、前回選挙からの得票率の変化の決定要因となっていることを明らかにする。
