Outline of Research at the Start

インド産藍染綿布ギネのグローバルヒストリーを完結させるために、①インド産藍染綿布ギネの生産方法とその改革、②アフリカのサヘル地域（特に西サヘル地域）でのギネ流通について研究する。特に、藍染綿布の生産に必要な「知」が、帝国の枠を超えて伝播し、そのグローバル「知」がローカル「知」と融合して、新たな「知」を作りだし続けるという進化を検証し、続いて、19世紀末から20世紀前半にかけての保護主義や帝国主義の台頭すらも、新たなロジスティック回路や経済アクターの繋がりを創出した歴史を踏まえて、これらの動きを推進していく原動力として、各アクターの経済動機に注目する。
