Outline of Research at the Start	本研究では、1880年代～1930年代の南アジア地域において拡張した植民地銀行・金融ネットワークに注目し、１．帝国経済・金融の発展、２．地域経済・金融の形成と発展、３．南アジアという歴史空間における「ヨーロッパとアジア」との出会いと融合の諸結果を明示する。具体的には、１．「英系国際銀行」の金融業務、２．「インド管区銀行」の金融業務、３．両銀行のアジア系商人・金融利害との地域的関わりと社会的影響、を解明することである。本研究では、イギリス植民地支配体制の成立・維持・運営という「近代史」への複眼的アプローチの構築を提案し、「グローバリゼーション」の歴史的位相を解明する。
