Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、20世紀初頭、様々なマイノリティを対象として日本政府が実施した社会改良政策である「感化救済事業」を取り上げ、その「包摂」と「排除」のポリティクスについて考察する。具体的には、1900～20年代の感化救済事業の開始と展開に即して、Ⅰ 当時の社会事業論に対する犯罪学、精神医学、優生学などの科学的〈知〉の影響、Ⅱ 草創期の社会事業施設とその周辺関係者のネットワークの意義・役割、Ⅲ 様々なマイノリティの「逸脱」を説明する知的枠組と社会的差別の全国への波及、を究明する。これにより近代の社会事業・社会福祉などの「救済」が有していた社会的差別との連関を解明する。
