Outline of Research at the Start	社会的排除は健康格差の主要な社会的決定要因と見なされるようになってきたが、関連する研究は初期段階にある。初期の社会的排除の定量的研究のほとんどが、社会的・経済的側面とともに、健康の側面を社会的排除の指標の1つとみなし、両者の関係を見過ごしてきた。健康格差の研究は疫学を中心に発展してきたが、社会学者が通常注目する日常的な低レベルのストレス（貧困、いじめ、社会的孤立）に関する研究は少ない。社会的排除と健康の関係において、どのような要因があれば緩和されるのかも十分明らかにされていない。本研究は、ライフコース研究の分析枠組みを活用し、社会的排除と健康格差の理解や予防、改善に寄与する新たな視座を与える。
