Outline of Research at the Start

これまで原爆被害に関わる写真については、「どのような被害が撮影されているのか」という史実としての画像の検証に焦点がおかれ、写真自体がどのように語られ、受容されてきたのかということが検討される機会は少なかった。本研究では、広島、長崎をフィールドとし、原爆被害の記憶・表象研究のなかで取り上げられることの少なかった写真資料を対象に写真集を含む写真関連刊行物を包括的に収集、分析することで、原爆投下直後から現在に至るまでの間、原爆被害を記録し、表現する写真がどのように語られ、受容されてきたのかを考察し、写真による原爆被害の集合的記憶の形成過程の一端を明らかにする。
