Outline of Research at the Start

これまでの主な研究対象である、南西諸島の与那国、石垣、宮古島への陸上自衛隊駐屯地配備受け入れをめぐる地域社会の様相を、北の国境地帯である稚内、礼文、根室などにおける自衛隊施設周辺の地域社会の様相と比較する。地域自治組織などを対象に、現場においてフィールドワークを行い、その成果を記憶の集合性の観点から理論的に分析する。課題の達成のため、社会的合意論と記憶論とを接合する理論的作業に取り組むとともに、国境地帯での防衛をめぐる具体的状況の分析を通して、地域社会と国家との関係を検討する。
