本研究は, 高齢者の重要な人生移行である高齢者施設へ移る経験を参加型アクション・リサーチによって解明する. 高齢化社会に関する問題は, 高齢者の視点から語られるものではないことが多くあり, 高齢者が受動的に支援や対応を受け入れるという状況もある. 高齢者のフォトボイスを用いた参加型アクション・リサーチによる調査を行い, 支援の理念と実態のずれや相違を発見しうる対話の場を創出する. それにより高齢者の尊厳が認められ, 誰もが生涯を通して社会に参加でき, 生きがいと創造性を持って生活できる共生社会の実現を目指す, 多様な人々を結びつけるアートを介したソーシャルワーク実践理論の開発と研究を行う.
