Outline of Research at the Start	中華圏の地域では、歴史的に中国からの移民者が所属国において華僑会館を設立し、同郷の者たちの生活と仕事を援助する相互扶助活動をおこなっていた。しかし現代社会において、これら華僑会館の役割は変容しつつあり、シンガポールなどでは、華僑会館が福祉事業の一端をになっているところも現れている。本研究は、中華圏の華僑会館が現在、所属国および中華圏の地域とどのようにネットワークを構築して福祉事業を展開しているか、現地調査を踏まえて社会ネットワーク理論から解明することにある。
