Outline of Research at the Start	持続可能な社会を担う市民を育てるためには、学習だけではなく、持続可能な社会を経験することが重要だと考える。そこで「持続可能な社会を経験できる学校で学習することで、持続可能な社会を実現する資質・能力を身に付けることができるのではないか」という問いを設定し、「持続可能な開発目標(SDGs)」を中心的な理念において、教育だけではなく、地域とともに学校そのものを根本的に変革しようとしているイタリアの先進的な取り組みを研究対象とする。教育政策レベル、教育実践のレベル、子どもたちが獲得した資質・能力のレベルという三つのレベルを設定し、実態調査も含んだ重層的な研究で日本への示唆を導き出す。
