Outline of Research at the Start	急速な人口減少社会の進行は世界的な現象であるが、農山村の学校は農村社会の持続可能性と背中合わせの形で存立の危機にある。フランスでは、今でも5人に1人の子どもが農村に住んでおり、農村教育の重みは大きい。また、近年の田園回帰の潮流のなかで農村の実態は多様である。つまり、一口に農村といっても地域によって異なるニーズがあり農村学校も多様である。本研究は、フランスにおける農村の5分類の定義をもとに、農村の教育を支えてきた「小さな学校」の存続と再編成（ネットワーク化）の動向を事例調査し、「住民の幸福」及び「地域の持続可能性」の二つの視点を関連付けて分析し、農村学校の未来を再考することを目的とする。
