Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は、徴兵令認定中学校である15の中学校を対象として、次の学校史料の収集と分析を行う。第一に学校設立のための寄付金募金活動の実態（主体と募金の実態）を示す史料、第二に当該地域の教育要求を喚起する史料（学校設立のための呼びかけ等）、第三に当該地域で設立された中学校が何故徴兵令認定中学校なのか、その学校が「徴兵猶予の特典」を求めたのはなぜか、という点を明らかにしうる史料、さらに「『府県立・公立』と同等」という場合の「同等」とは何かを明らかにしうる史料、等を収集・分析する。これら史料の収集と分析により、明治期における地域の中等教育要求の組織化の実態を明らかにする。
