Outline of Research at the Start	英国における階級問題は根本的に地域間格差の問題であり，1980年代の新自由主義の文脈で一層深刻化してきたが，2022年，この問題への取り組みとしてレベルアップ政策が発表された。本研究は，レベルアップ政策の一環としての新たな教育投資エリアの設定による重点的な支援が，教育格差の縮減につながりうるのかを検証していく。そして，その結果として学力問題を抱える白人労働者階級の児童生徒や，地方当局が責任を負う不就学児童生徒への取り組みを具体的な考察対象として，英国格差社会の是正に向けた政策のあり方を明らかにし，わが国の教育改革施策への示唆を得ようとするものである。
