Outline of Research at the Start

本研究は、児童の「個性」を把捉するまなざしがいかに成立、変容したかを明らかにし、児童個々に差異を見出す「個性調査」と集団規範への包摂をめざす「学校的社会化」とが、相互に規定的な関係を保ちながら学校教育を織り上げてきた網目を読み解くことを目指す。
研究方法には、明治期以降に小学校で作成・記入された学校日誌等の文書および「個性調査簿」をはじめとする諸表簿一次史料の調査・分析と、教育学書、教育雑誌、育児書、子ども向け雑誌を対象とした言説分析を採用する。これにより、「学校的社会化」150年のパースペクティヴを、「個性」、学校と家庭との関係を中心に据えた知見として問うていく。
