Outline of Research at the Start

本研究の目的は、エチオピアの初等教育を事例に、多民族・多言語国家における言語教育を検討することである。母語の教育はアイデンティティに関わるため重要であるが、リンガ・フランカ（共通語）の教育も様々な民族・言語グループを橋渡しする目的から多民族・多言語国家では重要となる。ただし、どのような言語をリンガ・フランカとするかは政治的な影響を受ける可能性があるため慎重に選択する必要がある。本研究では、エチオピアの初等教育における言語教育を事例として、母語とリンガ・フランカの教育状況（制度及び実践）と当事者の言語教育に対する認識とニーズについて分析を行い、言語教育の在り方を探求する。
