Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は、グローバル・ヒストリーを切り口に近代教育思想・実践の受容過程を新たな角度から探求し現在の我々を基礎づけている教育への見方を問い直すものである。本研究で焦点を当てるモンテッソーリ教育は米国をはじめとして熱心な受容と衰退、モンテッソーリ・リバイバルという現象を経験し、上記の波を時代状況や社会的要請との関係から読み解く受容史研究が各国で蓄積されてきた。しかし、それらは国や時代の枠ごとに語られ、当該教育がなぜ国や時代を超えて受け継がれ現代に至るかという核となる部分に迫ることが困難であった。本研究では諸国での受容過程等をクロスさせ、相互関係に着目することで従来のモンテッソーリ教育像を更新する。
