本研究においては、1980-2000年代の日本の「こどものうた」に、ポピュラー音楽の語法やリズムが導入された過程について、楽曲分析や言説分析等の手法を用いて検討を行う。「こどものうた」は、現在もテレビ朝日系列の「童謡こどもの歌コンクール」等で使用される用語であり、主に幼児・児童を対象とした楽曲を指す。元来、戦前の童謡文化において使用されていた用語であるが、戦後のロバの会による楽譜集『新しいこどものうた』において定着した。本研究においては、NHK「みんなのうた」やその他の教育番組等における楽曲の分析を行い、更には同時期のポピュラー音楽との比較も行うことにより、「こどものうた」の変遷をたどる。
