Outline of Research at the Start	本研究では、18歳人口の減少、公的資金の削減、コロナ禍など大学を取り巻く厳しい環境を鑑み、「持続可能な中小規模私立大学モデル」を探求することを目的としている。過去2年間実施してきた「コロナ禍とアメリカの大学」の研究を更に具体化させ、カリフォルニア地域の中小規模私立大学のカリキュラム、ガバナンス、財務構造の分析を試みる。これに基づき、調査対象大学で構成されるコンソーシアムのシステム構造と相互補完的機能に着目する。
