Outline of Research at the Start	6割以上の大学生が海外に行きたいと思っている。短期留学プログラムを実施する大学としては、そうした気持ちに応えたいところではあるが、昨今の海外情勢や国際的な物価の上昇の影響などにより、容易に海外渡航ができる状況には当面至らないと考える。そこで、国内留学やオンライン留学などが候補になってくるが、学習者のモチベーションに依存するところが大きく、実際の海外留学に肩を並べるだけの効果は期待できなかった。そこで、海外留学の代替として、これまで8年連続で英語スピーチコンテストを主催して成功に導いてきた知識と経験などを活用し、スピーチコンテストが組み入れられた「COIL型教育プログラム」のモデル化を検討する。
