Outline of Research at the Start	身近な自然に親しみ、科学する心を育てる活動として、生きものの飼育・栽培は大切な教育である。特に多様で豊かな反応を示す哺乳類・鳥類などは教育効果が高く、生きものを愛護する態度や生命を尊重する心を育てる効用にも優れている。ところがこれらの動物の飼育は、衛生面での配慮の必要や維持の労力などから敬遠する幼稚園・学校が増加している。最近ではアレルギーも見逃せない。植物単独の栽培ではいろいろなアプローチが実践されているのに、興味・親しみをもちやすい動物については残念な状況である。そこで、動物とのふれあいは大学が担当し、それとつなげる形で植物の栽培活動を持ち帰ってもらう、心の種まき運動を計画した。
