Outline of Research at the Start

申請者発案の「グループ・マシュマロ課題」を実施し、幼稚園児におけるグループ制御を日米比較研究により検討する。グループ状況下において、1)子ども達は、どのようにマシュマロ課題に取り組むのか、2)日本と米国の子どもとで、マシュマロ課題への取り組み方は同じか、違うか、これら2点の解明を目的とする。従来の研究では、行動の制御は「自制」として概念化されてきた。しかし、日本の幼児教育者は、行動を制御する機能は、個々の子どものみではなく、グループにもあると考え、日々の教育を実践している。 個人の能力として扱われてきた行動の制御をグループの能力としても捉えることができるかという問いに、実証研究により迫る。
