Outline of Research at the Start

Heegaard分解の写像類群および関連する様々な群を「3 次元トポロジーに由来する写像類群の部分群」として包括的に扱い,構造解明を行う．具体的には，Heegaard分解の空間やホモトピーモーションの空間の構造解明,絡み目の橋分解のGoeritz 群の生成系の導出，ハンドル体結び目の対称群の有限性条件などに取り組む．本研究は，組み合せ的手法，特異点論的手法双方を駆使することで，3次元多様体の幾何構造と曲線複体の粗幾何から上述の成果を引き出すこと目指すものであり，写像類群の部分群を通して3次元トポロジーにおける組み合せ的構造，微分位相構造，幾何構造の関係についての更なる理解を与えるものである．
