Outline of Research at the Start

有珠山は日本有数の活火山であり，次期噴火予測と災害軽減対策を行うことは重要である．本研究では洞爺カルデラと有珠山の全噴火史解明を行い，洞爺カルデラのプレカルデラ噴火，カルデラ形成噴火，中島の火山活動，そして現在まで続く有珠山の活動までの全噴火史を，高精度なタイムスケールで解明する．洞爺カルデラのロングタームエボリューションを解明し，大きなスケールで，有珠山の総合的な防災研究を進める．
