Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、一部の区間でクリープ変位が確認されているフィリピン断層について、 既存のクリープ変位観測網を拡大してクリープ変位区間やクリープ変位速度分布を明らかにする。またクリープ変位区間で近年発生した中規模地震で出現した地震断層の調査やトレンチ調査を行い、地震の発生間隔やクリープ変位と地震性変位の関係などを定量的に明らかにする。さらに地震活動や測地学的データと地形・地質学的データを組み合わせて、 断層の活動様式の空間的多様性を生む地学的な背景を明らかにする。
