Outline of Research at the Start	ルネサンス期のローマは芸術の中心地として多くの建築を生み出した。古代復興・再生の時代であるがゆえに、それらの建築群は、古代性や古典主義の観点から主に分析されてきた。特に建築オーダーや各部の数的比例関係、古代解釈の創造性や前衛性などが「かたち」をもとに議論されてきたが、建築を形づくる素材やその物質的側面には、いまだスポットライトが当たっていない。そこで本研究は、時間軸に沿って可能な限りのローマ・ルネサンス建築を分析することで、建築の素材の使用や加工の実態が大きく変遷をしたことを実証的に指摘し、古代性の表現や、古典主義の諸相を深く読み解くための新たな視座を示す。
