Outline of Research at the Start

Precise atomic arrangement is the basis for discovering new metal clusters, and further controllable assembly of metal clusters is important for designing new metallic materials. This study provides a controllable approach to expand metal cluster-based pseudo-oligomerization/polymerization structures by utilizing the main group element-centered gold(I) polyhedral cluster units and is expected to provide a deep understanding of cluster-based growth mechanisms. This would result in cluster structure-dependent optical properties and catalytic activities.
