Outline of Research at the Start	免疫チェックポイント阻害抗体は夢のガン根治薬として期待されているが現状その効果は一部の患者に限定されている。免疫チェックポイントの種類は多く患者によって適切な作用点が異なることが原因である。Galectin-9 は免疫チェックポイント分子のひとつであり阻害抗体の開発が進められている。我々はGalectin-9 を阻害する低分子化合物を発見した。創薬に成功すれば免疫チェックポイント阻害経口薬を社会に還元できる。この目標を達成するには Galectin-9 に作用する構造情報を集めることが肝要であり、本研究では低分子化合物ライブラリーのスクリーニングでこれを達成する。
