Outline of Research at the Start

生体内における硫酸化は、主要な代謝抱合反応の一つであり、これまで生理活性物質や外来物質の代謝変換と不活性化ならびに排泄を担うとされてきた。一方、硫酸化が代謝活性化を引き起こす事例もある。個々のフェノール性物質の生理活性の増減に、硫酸化がどの程度貢献しているのかを定量的に調べることができれば、将来的には硫酸化後の物質の効能を予測できる可能性があると考え、本申請課題では、硫酸化を主軸とした代謝物の機能性研究を推進する。
