Outline of Research at the Start

ビタミンD（VD）と炎症性腸疾患（IBD）との関係性を、動物モデルを使用して広く解析し、VDをIBDの予防や治療に活用することを目的とする。具体的には、①腸炎モデルにVD投与を行い、VDのIBDに対する予防・治療効果や医薬品応用への可能性を探る、②VD欠乏モデルの消化管における遺伝子発現や腸内細菌叢変化などを解析し、IBDの発症や再燃、悪性化の機構とVDとの関りを理解する。近年、血中VD濃度がIBD症状の悪性化リスクと強く関連することが報告されている。上記の研究を通して、VDとIBD発症や再燃、悪性化機構との関係性の理解およびIBDに対する新規VD製剤開発基盤の確立を目指す。
