Outline of Research at the Start	米糠は、抗アルツハイマー病（AD）作用が期待されているが，その証拠は不十分である。本研究課題では，糖尿病や肥満，老化がAD発症リスクとなる観点から，肥満糖尿病モデルマウスや老齢マウスを対象とし，米糠摂取によりADの病因であるアミロイドβおよびリン酸化tauの低減，インスリン抵抗性の改善，酸化ストレスの緩和，さらに認知機能低下の抑制が認められるか評価する。近年，AD発症におけるミクログリアの重要性が浮かび上がってきた。これを受け，米糠摂取がミクログリアに影響を及ぼし，AD予防に寄与し得るか検討する。また，脳組織における米糠由来生理活性物質（フェルラ酸など）の検出を試みる。
