Outline of Research at the Start

肺、肝臓、腎臓の線維化は治療困難である。現状、線維化疾患に対する有効な創薬は乏しく、予後の大幅な改善には至っていない。
これに対して、申請者は大豆イソフラボンの代謝物である Equol が顕著な抗線維化作用を発揮するという発見をもとに、その仕組みを解明してつつある。本研究は安全なポリフェノールの抗線維化作用解明を通じて、新たな治療標的の探索を目指す。
