Outline of Research at the Start

閑谷学校における、蒲鉾型石塀をはじめとする石の水利遺構全般の様態を精査する。300年経た現在も、地域の人々に愛され、遠方からの旅行者が絶えず、関係諸氏の尽力により美しいたたずまいと教育機関としての役割を形を変えながらも受け継いでいる閑谷学校の永続的な営み。それは、池田光政の命を受け継ぎ、津田永忠及び職人たちによる建築と環境が渾然一体となった場所をつくる技術、すなわち「雨の器」が基盤となっていることを、３ヶ年の計画で明らかにしたい。
