Outline of Research at the Start	緑道とは，緑地帯による生物の生息地相互の連絡機能を兼ねた歩道・自転車道およびそのネットワークのことであり，多機能重合型のグリーンインフラストラクチャー（以下，GIと称す）である．わが国は，欧州連合のように緑道が内包する諸機能を効率的に引き出すことができておらず，緑道に関する実践的デザイン論の整備が急務となっている．そこで本研究は，欧州連合が実践している緑道網の実践的デザイン論とそれに伴う都市形態の変遷について科学的な調査を実施する．そして，その結果に基づき，わが国の社会情勢に適した緑道網の実践的デザイン論を案出することを本研究の目的とする．
