Outline of Research at the Start

人口減少の進み方が平地農業地域に比べてはやい中山間地域において、人口減少を理由とした道路などの整備不要論に陥ってしまわないために、定住人口の確保が必要である。
本研究では地域活動の拠点である小中学校の存続を図るため、学区外就学特例校として位置づけ直すことにより地域外からの児童・生徒を呼び込み、寮生活を送れるようにすることで、定住人口の確保につなげる方法の提案を目的とする。長岡市山古志地区の小中学校を学区外就学特例校とすることを念頭に置き、2000年代に学区外就学特例校化されている山古志の近隣の小中学校の事例などについて、学校運営の実際、地域とのつながりの実際を詳細調査し、可能性を探る。
