Outline of Research at the Start

肝細胞は肝臓の主要な構成細胞であり、肝小葉と呼ばれる構造体の中に存在する。肝小葉は中心静脈を囲むようにZone1、Zone2、Zone3の3つの領域に分かれており、それぞれの領域の肝細胞は尿素産生や薬物代謝などの異なる機能を持つ。しかし、従来の培養肝細胞モデルは、肝細胞のzone特異的な機能を十分に再現できないという問題があった。本研究では、脱分化脂肪細胞からZone特異的肝細胞を自在に作製する培養系を開発し、肝臓のzonationを再現した新しい培養肝細胞モデルを確立することを目的としている。
