Outline of Research at the Start	生命の設計図とも言われるDNA配列は、4種類の塩基からなるA・T・G・Cの文字列によって表現されている。DNA配列中には、「マイクロサテライト」と呼ばれる反復する領域（例えば、AGAGAG…）がいくつも存在しており、系統や個体間で独自の反復パターンを示すことから指紋領域として知られている。そのため、この反復領域は農学・法科学などにおけるDNAマーカー開発や個体識別技術、そのほか生態保全や遺伝資源の保存・管理として役立つことにも期待される。そこで本研究は、以前に実施した様々な生物種からなるマイクロサテライトデータベースのさらなる拡張、さらに系統や個体間を識別するための解析ツールの構築を目指す。
