Outline of Research at the Start	分裂期染色体に結合する複数のmRNA種の中に、染色体の動態制御に関与するものがあること、そのメカニズムを明らかにする。染色体は細胞分裂時に、二つの娘細胞へと均等に分配される。その仕組みを解明することは、遺伝学、分子生物学、細胞生物学における重要なテーマである。染色体分離の過程に必要な染色体の運搬には、微小管と、その上を移動するモータータンパク質群が関わっているが、その詳細なメカニズムは未だ明らかになっていない。本研究では、この仕組みにおいて、染色体の運搬を担うモータータンパク質の働きに、染色体に結合するmRNAが関わることを明らかにするとともに、そのメカニズムの解明を目指す。
