Outline of Research at the Start

海洋島において自家和合性と雌雄異株という，一見すると矛盾するような繁殖様式が同時に見られる生態的な背景を解明することを目的として，海洋島と本土の近交弱勢を比較する．遺伝子型情報を用いて近交弱勢を推定することで人工交配操作を省略することができ，離れた調査地間での比較が可能になると考えている．一般的には自殖率の高い集団では有害劣性遺伝子が除去されるため近交弱勢が弱いとされているが，島嶼生植物で雌雄異株が多いことを考慮すると，島では自殖率も近交弱勢も共に高い状態となっていることが予想される．
