Outline of Research at the Start	魚類では、しばしば雌が配偶者を選り好みしたり、雄が他雄を攻撃的に排除して雌を独占することによって、一部の強くモテる雄が雌を独占することが起きます。弱くモテない雄はどのように繁殖するのせしょうか？魚類では、このモテない雄はモテる雄と雌の配偶中に、コソコソと忍び寄り、雌の近くで精子を放出してすぐさま逃げるという戦術を採ります。しかし、この繁殖戦術はモテる雄の強い警戒によって見つかり、失敗に終わることが多いことが分かっています。モテない雄がどのように、失敗の確率を減らし、放精を達成するのかを明らかにすることを目的としています。
