Outline of Research at the Start	本研究は、マーモセット前頭前野の包括的投射マッピングから得られた成果を元に立案された。マーモセット前頭前野からは、1mm以下の皮質領域に投射が集中する複数のカラム状投射が、前頭前野内、及び遠隔の連合野に向けて伸びている。この投射は、双方向の極めて特異性の高い構造であり、マウスあるいはマーモセットでも視覚野には存在しない。それと同時に、非常に弱いが広い領域に広がる拡散的な投射も共存している。これら投射の「集中」と「拡散」の共存が霊長類連合野の結合ネットワークに重要ではないかと考え、それらの結合のより詳細な実体や機能的結合を解明することを本研究では目指す。
