Outline of Research at the Start	ウイルスは自身の増殖のために宿主の様々な細胞機能を利用する。その一つが分子シャペロン/熱ショック蛋白質（HSP）による蛋白質品質管理機構である。これまでに申請者は、HSP40に対して阻害活性を示す化合物が、ヒトサイトメガロウイルス（HCMV）感染を顕著に減弱すること、さらに、HSP40の一種DNAJA1の欠損は、宿主細胞の増殖に影響を与えることなく、HCMV増殖を30%まで減弱することを明らかにした。そこで本申請では、宿主の分子シャペロンHSP40の阻害によるHCMV感染症治療の創薬基盤の確立を目指す。
