Outline of Research at the Start	異所性脂肪は、非脂肪組織である肝臓、骨格筋や膵臓などに蓄積する脂肪のことであり、その蓄積制御は不明な点が多い。脂質メディエーターであるプロスタグランジン（PG）D2やその代謝物は脂肪組織の脂肪蓄積を促進し、脂質代謝（合成・分解）異常やインスリン抵抗性を引き起こす。本研究では、PGD合成酵素の遺伝子改変マウスを用いて、非脂肪組織である肝臓、骨格筋や膵臓での異所性脂肪蓄積やインスリン抵抗性などの機能障害におけるPGD2やその代謝物の役割と制御機構を解明する。
