Outline of Research at the Start	本プロジェクトでは、アルツハイマー病（AD）を標的とした新規MOA（Mode of Action）による治療法確立に向けたAD病態発症機序の解明を目指す。AD患者の特徴として、1)Amyloid-β（Aβ）の凝集・沈着、2)Tau蛋白の過剰リン酸化、を主因とするAD中核症状（認知機能障害）ならびにAD周辺症状（うつ症状・不安症状・攻撃性症状などの精神機能障害）の出現が報告されている。本プロジェクトでは、ADモデルマウス（APP-KIマウス、P301S変異ヒトタウ遺伝子導入（PS19）マウス）ならびにKATP（Kir6.1/Kir6.2）チャネル欠損マウスを用いて、KATPチャネルのADの病態発症機序に関する病態生理学的役割について解明し、AD新規治療戦略の構築を目指す。
